The island Image project
As part of my PhD I am conducting research on the Isles of Scilly to explore the image that people hold of island destinations. My thesis is investigating differences in destination image held by visitors to island destinations but also aims to explore the influence of memories and nostalgia on place image.
During the remainder of the 2014 season I am looking for visitors, to the islands, who are willing to participate in an interview, during their holiday, to share their images and memories of Scilly. I feel Scilly is the perfect location for this research, particularly as the islands have so many loyal visitors who return time and time again. So far in my research it has been wonderful to talk to visitors that feel so passionately about the islands.
